Berries & Cream
I am aware that word is awkward. What does it mean to macerate? Essentially, it involves allowing your berries to soak up juice and sugar. In a bowl, combine the berries with the sugar and fresh orange juice. To blend, stir. Give the berries about an hour to sit. This enables the berries to release their own juices, which in turn produces a sweet, mouthwatering syrup. The berries don’t need to be chilled while you’re doing this.

When I was a young boy, my mother would have me perform the little lad dance if I was hungry. Even though my mother is no longer with us, I still enjoy doing the little lad dance, and this dish makes me squeal with delight. Cream and berries! Cream and berries! I’m a little boy who adores strawberries and cream.

Why This Recipe Will Be a Hit!
One of my favorite aspects of living in the Pacific Northwest is the availability of fresh berries. But fortunately for everyone, fresh berries are always accessible. When I’ve had enough of the gloomy, rainy winter days, I like to pretend it’s summer again and indulge in some berries and cream. In a bowl, it unmistakably tastes like summer.

It’s simple! I also adore how simple and streamlined the dessert is. A bowl of luscious, sweet berries on top of wonderful, airy whipped cream with orange flavor!

After a hearty lunch, this dessert is ideal.
Fresh berries served over a wonderful orange-infused whipped cream in a delicious bowl with cream. A delightful dessert that is light.

Making A Simple Syrup
Orange juice, sugar, and zest should all be combined.
Over medium heat, add to a small sauce pan and stir to dissolve the sugar.
Allow ingredients to simmer for 10 minutes or so to start thickening the syrup.
Syrup should be cooled before being mixed with whipped cream.
